Woods Estates Entrance Revitalization To Begin Soon!

Whatever happened to our plans to renew our entrances? You’ll be pleased to hear that planning is underway, with renewal of the hardscape at the Woods Estates entrance slated to begin in approximately a month.
If you attended the Open House in March, read the WoodNote, or participated in one of the get togethers, you had the opportunity to review the hardscape and softscape options that were presented by the Revitalization Committee. Resident input was communicated to the selected landscape designer, Dale Clarke, the same contractor that is currently executing the design for the front entrance of Kingwood.
On the existing brick, Dale will apply new stone plaques and caps, stone pine cone finials, and linear stone elements. Both the Committee and residents endorsed retaining the existing brick instead of resurfacing it, because the cost of resurfacing is simply too high.
Softscape will feature crepe myrtles behind the brick signage and the current bed expanded with a range of new plantings. Electrical lights will be installed at all entrances. We’ll share details in this blog when we receive final layout of the plantings from the landscape designer.
The Revitalization Committee is working with the Kings Forest board to map out a project plan for the completion of the remaining primary entrances – Woodland Hills, Kings Forest Drive and Valley Manor. Secondary entrances Shady Run and Valley Manor (near Montessori school) will be upgraded with small stone pillars (with matching finials) to replace the existing wood signs.
With the reduction of expenditures for the Kings Forest pool, we anticipate that we’ll be able to make faster progress in completing the other entrances to Kings Forest.
