Pool Survey Under Review by Board

Based on opinions we've heard you express, the Revitalization Committee last week made a recommendation to the board that it consider transitioning the pool to key access (no lifeguards, swim at your own risk).

Before taking action, however, the Committee had recommended to the Board that the residents be surveyed for their opinions.

At the board meeting on October 1, the Revitalization Committee presented to the Board for their review and approval a survey instrument to distribute to Kings Forest residents. The intent of the survey is to gather information on how residents use the pool and their opinions about key access and/or closure.

We anticipate distributing the survey together with the next WoodNote, which will issue in November.

In the interim, here are the results of our informal "pulse of the community" poll. We had 31 voters; more than one option could be chosen. Kings Forest residents are certainly consistent in liking to hear all the facts before coming to a decision.

Yes. It's underutilized and costly. 16 (51%)
No. My family uses it. 5 (16%)
I want more information before deciding. 10 (32%)
I want to know the alternate plan. 12 (38%)
